Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge

Cathi and Dave saw the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbor Bridge each of the days we where in Sydney.  One day we had a picnic lunch in the Royal Botanical Gardens then tour of the Opera House. Another day we climbed to the top of one of the pylons of the Harbor Bridge and then had a picnic lunch in the park on Dawes Point under the bridge.

On another day, Dave walked, rode a train and rode a bus across the Sydney Harbor Bridge.

Jørn Utzon, a Danish architect, was the winner of a design competiton for the Opera House in 1957. We were told on the Opera House tour that the Utzon design was rescued from a final cut of 30 "rejects" by the noted Finnish American architect Eero Saarinen.
