Dave and Cathi took the road trip of a lifetime from Roswell, Georgia to Los Angeles, California and back to celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary in September 2011.
Stops along the way were in St. Louis, Missouri; Moab, Utah; Arches National Park; Capitol Reef National Park; Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument; Arasazi Indian State Park (Utah); Escalante Petrified Forest State Park (Utah); Bryce Canyon National Park; Dixie National Forest (red rock canyon); Zion National Park where we stayed in the Lodge; Death Valley National Park (it was 116 degrees); Big Bear Lake in California; Los Angeles to visit m’lissa; Palm Springs to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary; Las Cruces, NM to stop by and see Dr. Jacquez, Dave’s graduate school advisor (Dr. Jacquez is Dean of the College of Engineering at New Mexico State University); Abilene, TX and our last night was in Meridian, MS.
We travelled 5,730 miles and averaged 22.3 mpg even including the off road 4×4 trails in Death Valley National Park.
