Dave attended the 2009 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta was held September 23-26, 2009. Dave was there for Thursday practice, Friday qualifying and the very wet and red flagged race on Saturday.
This year Dave drove his Volkswagen TDI to the race and picked up some great gifts from Volkswagen by showing his keys at their big display in the vendor area. Cathi really likes the VW umbrella. Thanks Volkswagen!
On Saturday Dave arrived extra early to get a parking spot just outside turn 10 that he could get out of in case the rain continued. The race was great but Mika Salo decided to come in and put on rain tires during the last caution and beat Dave’s favorite team the Flying Lizards. But the good news is Patrick Long and the Flying Lizard Porsche car 45 are still in the points lead for the season.
